Mumbai’s real estate market continues to make headlines as Gauri Khan, a renowned interior designer and wife of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, recently sold her luxury apartment in Dadar West for Rs. 11.61 crore. The sale comes amid ongoing renovations at their iconic residence, Mannat.
Gauri Khan's apartment, spanning nearly 2000 sq ft, is situated on the 21st floor of the prestigious Kohinoor Altissimo (Kohinoor Square) in Dadar West. The buyers of the property, Devendra Chaukar (holding an 87.5% stake) and Vandana Agarwal (holding a 12.5% stake), have acquired the unit at a rate of Rs. 58,507 per sq ft (built-up area). The transaction was officially registered on March 28, 2025.
The upscale apartment, part of a ready-to-move residential project by Kohinoor CTNL Infrastructure Pvt Ltd, includes two dedicated car parking spaces. The property was originally purchased by Gauri Khan in August 2022 for Rs. 8.5 crore, showcasing an impressive appreciation of 37% in just three years.
The sale of Gauri Khan’s apartment is a testament to the dynamic nature of Mumbai’s luxury real estate market. Demand for prime properties remains strong, with notable high-value transactions shaping the industry. Over the past three years, the city has witnessed an investment of Rs. 7,500 crore in 49 ultra-luxury homes, each priced at Rs. 100 crore or more.
A report by JLL highlights that in the first two months of 2025 alone, four ultra-luxury homes worth a total of Rs. 850 crore were sold. Of these high-end sales in the last three years, Mumbai accounted for a dominant 69% share, followed by Delhi NCR.
While Gauri Khan's Dadar West property sale grabs attention, another major real estate move involving the Khan family is also in the spotlight. Shah Rukh Khan has leased two luxurious duplex apartments in Mumbai’s upscale Pali Hill, Khar, for a total rent of Rs. 8.67 crore over three years. This temporary move is necessitated by the extensive renovation and expansion of Mannat’s annexe, a process expected to take approximately two years.
The sale of Gauri Khan’s apartment and Shah Rukh Khan’s temporary relocation reflect Mumbai’s booming luxury real estate market. With property values appreciating significantly and demand for ultra-luxury homes rising, investors and high-net-worth individuals continue to view Mumbai’s prime real estate as a lucrative opportunity.
As the city’s skyline continues to evolve, high-profile transactions like these underscore the enduring allure of Mumbai’s luxury real estate sector. Whether for investment or personal use, premium properties in prime locations remain a hot commodity in India's financial capital.
