Bengaluru's real estate market has witnessed another landmark deal with Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy reportedly purchasing a luxury flat in the prestigious Kingfisher Towers for a staggering ₹50 crore. Located in the heart of the city, this exclusive 16th-floor residence spans an impressive 8,400 square feet and comes with four bedrooms and five dedicated parking spaces.
The transaction, priced at ₹59,500 per square foot, has set a new record for residential prices in Bengaluru, reflecting the growing allure of the city's prime properties.
This is not Murthy's first acquisition in the ultra-luxurious Kingfisher Towers. Four years ago, his wife, Sudha Murty, purchased a flat on the 23rd floor for ₹29 crore, further cementing the Murthy family's association with the city's most exclusive address.
Built on the former estate of liquor baron Vijay Mallya, Kingfisher Towers houses 81 bespoke apartments spread across 34 stories, each unit exuding exclusivity and luxury. Among its high-profile residents are Biocon chairperson Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw and Rana George, son of Karnataka energy minister KJ George.
Launched in 2010, the property initially sold units for ₹22,000 per square foot. Over the years, its value has more than doubled, driven by Bengaluru's thriving real estate market and limited availability of ultra-luxury spaces in prime locations.
The recently purchased flat, sold by a Mumbai-based businessman, marks one of the rare resale transactions in the tightly held Kingfisher Towers. The deal underscores the continued demand for premium properties, even in the secondary market.
As Bengaluru continues to emerge as a hotspot for high-net-worth individuals, deals like these reinforce its reputation as a city of opportunity and luxury. For Narayana Murthy, this acquisition represents not just another investment but a statement of his enduring connection to Bengaluru's skyline.
