Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma has rented out his luxury apartment in Lower Parel, Mumbai, for a staggering ₹2.6 lakh per month. The property, located in Lodha Marquise – The Park, is part of a high-end residential project developed by Macrotech Developers Limited (Lodha Group).
According to property registration documents accessed by Square Yards, the apartment boasts a carpet area of 1,298 sq ft and comes with two dedicated car parking spaces. The lease transaction incurred a stamp duty of ₹16,300 and registration charges of ₹1,000.
Rohit Sharma, along with his father, Gurunath Sharma, purchased this apartment in March 2013 for ₹5.46 crore. With a rental income of ₹2.6 lakh per month, the property yields an impressive 6% return.
Lower Parel is one of Mumbai’s most sought-after residential and commercial hubs. It offers premium living spaces with seamless connectivity to key business districts such as Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) and Nariman Point. The area's infrastructure, proximity to corporate offices, and lifestyle amenities make it an attractive location for high-net-worth individuals and investors.
In addition to this apartment, Rohit Sharma and his father own another unit in Lodha Marquise – The Park. This second property, purchased in 2013 for ₹5.70 crore, was rented out in October 2024 for ₹2.65 lakh per month, further emphasizing the family’s strategic real estate investments.
While Sharma is making smart moves in the real estate sector, his primary success comes from cricket. Leading Mumbai Indians to multiple IPL titles and playing crucial roles in India’s victories in the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy and the 2018 Asia Cup, Sharma has established himself as one of India’s finest cricketers. He was honored with the prestigious Arjuna Award in 2015 and the Khel Ratna in 2020. Currently, as India’s captain, he continues to demonstrate exceptional batting skills and strategic leadership.
Rohit Sharma's move to rent out his luxury Mumbai property highlights the growing demand for premium residences in Lower Parel. With strong rental yields and prime locations, his real estate investments complement his cricketing achievements, making him not only a sports icon but also a savvy investor.
